About Margi
Margaret Malan was born in Zimbabwe in 1949. She lived on a farm and was schooled in the arts from an early age. Margaret studied at the Michaelis School of Art in Cape Town and also at the Hornsey College of Art in London where she pursued her love of art in clay.

Her work celebrates the ‘joy of the domestic’. Each piece of pottery is entirely hand formed with memoir, portrait, landscape and interior. Her materials are red and white earthen clay, painted with under glaze pigments.

Margaret’s pottery is featured in private and public collections in South Africa and Europe. She exhibits in South Africa and London.

This Year
Margaret’s recent show was in March 2005 at the Irma Stern Museum in Cape Town. This will be followed by a visit to London in October where she will be viewing her most recent pieces.
